Brief Biography of Mark O. Walsh, Executive Director
Mark O. Walsh spent more than 25 years as Associate Director of the Utah
Association of Counties (UAC) specializing in public lands, environmental
and natural resources issues.
Prior to taking this position with UAC, Mark worked in policy positions
for then Utah Governor Scott Matheson. He worked for U.S. Senator Frank
Moss and as Legislative Director for Congressman Gunn McKay.
Mark also recently retired from the U.S. Army Reserve with the rank of
Colonel. During his service in the Army Reserve he held numerous responsibilities
at the senior command level, most recently as the Deputy Chief of Staff
for Training and Operations to the Commanding General of the 96th Reserve
Support Command at Ft. Douglas, Utah.
Mark holds a B.S. Degree in Political Science, History and Economics
from the University of Utah and an M.A. Degree in Political Science from
Brigham Young University.
